Robert Shrivers

A funeral service for Robert W. Shrivers, 64 of Nashport will be 1:00 p.m. Monday December 5, 2011, in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery. Mr. Shrivers died Thursday December 1, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born December 21, 1946 in Licking County to Robert Cecil and Bonnie Jean (Andrews) Shrivers. Mr. Shrivers retired in 1986 from Rockwell International where he had worked for 20 years. Together with his wife Mr. Shrivers owned and operated Hanover Pizza and Ice Cream since 1982.

Those who knew Mr. Shrivers will remember his love of family, especially his grandchildren. Additionally, he enjoyed classic cars, and traveling.

Survivors include his mother Bonnie Jean (Daniel) Roike of Hanover; his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Atha "Sis" (Stalling) Shrivers, whom he married June 10, 1966; daughters, Lesa Mitchell and Bobbi Shrivers, both of Newark; step-sister, Terry (Cecil) Downs of St. Louisville; step-brothers, Jeff Roike of Connecticut and Jeff Diller; grandchildren, Brooklyn Short, Kody Mitchell, Blake Short, Christian Spellman and Trittnee Mitchell; mother in-law, Phylis Stalling of Newark; nine brothers-in-law and sisters in-law; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents; Ray and Lucille Yates; and father-in-law, Hershell Stalling, Sr.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
