Richard Vermilion

 

Richard H. "Rich" Vermillion, 64, of Gahanna, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012 at The Village at Westerville surrounded by his loving wife, Theresa Hillis Vermillion, and sister, Frances Crown.

Rich was born December 25, 1947 in Newark, Ohio, the son of the late Harold and Anna Meanor Vermillion.

He was a graduate of Newark High School and was a Vietnam Era Navy veteran. He was employed by J.P. Morgan Chase in Columbus, and had worked at Huntington Bank, Borden, and Highlights for Children. Rich loved his dogs, Susie Q and Ozzie.

Rich is survived by his wife of 30 years, whom he married September 25, 1982, Theresa L. Hillis Vermillion of the home; a brother, Philip (Marlene) Vermillion of Newark; a sister, Frances Crown of Columbus; three nephews, Hal, David and George; Theresa's 12 brothers and sisters; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Mae Pellshaw.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
