Went to work for the USAF at the Air Base and worked up to training leader when the base closed. Then went to work for Boeing until laid off in 2000. Had gone back to school to earn my Paramedic cert in 1975 and joined Heath FD as a volunteer. When I was laid off by Boeing, I went to work for a private service in Columbus as a paramedic. I held the rank of Lieutenant and supervised approx 24 EMT's and Paramedic's on my shift. I went back to school at Columbus State and received my Critical Care Transport cert and did MICU transports from hospital to hospital of critical patients. I also taught Paramedics at Columbus State as a preceptor in the Pramedic program. I also taught Advanced Cardiac Life Support and CPR as an Instructor/Trainer.
I was the Operations Supervisor for EMS at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and supervised 50 EMTs and Paramedic.
I was in the Army in 1967 to 1970 and was in Korea. I worked on the Nike Hercules nuclear missile as a guidance system repair tech. I was then sent to Fort Bliss, Texas where I met my wife of 49 years. She was an Army brat and a skater with the Holiday on Ice shows. We have 3 children, 3 grandchildren and several kids that somehow just followed my other kids home. We somehow adopted them in name only but they still think they live with us. We built a home in Pickerington in 2000 and sold it in 2018 when we moved to Texas. In my spare time I do woodworking and build cabinets and whatever my wife wants me to build. ie: decks, shelves, sewing room, sand boxes,,,,,you get the idea. We also love to travel. Especially to Puerto Rico. Great place to relax. I would welcome any and all to contact me anytime. We love to play cards, go to fairs and festivals and travel. Contact me on e-mail at heathmedic@hotmail.com.
